Biography
In addition to photography, I'm also a pretty avid traveler. I hold dual Polish/US citizenship and have visited Poland more times than I can count (starting from age 2) to visit family, and have also been to Italy four times, France twice, and Canada twice along with taking trips to Switzerland, London and Slovakia. My favorite place to travel to in the US is for sure Las Vegas, having been there three times. Fitness is very important to me too, I lift and run throughout the week and have done two Spartan Races plus a Tough Mudder. For me, nothing is better than running on a hot summer day on the Chicago lakefront trail.
I bought my first DSLR in the summer of 2007 shortly after graduating high school. My first pictures were mostly of our cat and flowers around the yard as I learned how the thing worked and read every book I could get my hands on to learn the basics of photography. Those basic fundamentals I learned that summer stick with me today and allow me to take pictures in my own constantly evolving yet distinctively belonging-to-me style. I started out shooting mostly travel during my trips to Poland to visit family. From there I started shooting everything else that I had an interest in; from automotive and motorsport, to photos of Chicago I took while in between classes at DePaul University, to ballet recitals my sister was performing in. I started shooting portraits in 2014 which has grown into one of my favorite genres, and I have been shooting weddings professionally since the beginning of 2015. Each genre I shoot takes a unique skillset to master; from anticipating and timing shots at the right time in motorsport, to mastering low light autofocus shooting in theaters, to knowing how to pose and direct models when shooting portraits. Each strength I've learned from each genre helps me have the confidence and ability to shoot at the right settings in the right locations.
